1. Please be honest with yourself about your pet's personality. If your dog is not comfortable with lots of people and other dogs around; if they bark excessively when left alone in a strange place; if they have any tendencies to be confrontational, defensive or afraid around other dogs or people; if they might be so upset as to damage our property in their efforts to get out of their room;  then please do not take them on vacation with you.  

2. Your pet must be up-to-date on vaccinations--including rabies, kennel cough and distemper.  It is not necessary to have proof with you, however, if necessary, you must be able to provide proof by fax from your vet.  We had a recent occasion of a dog bite where the dog was not current with it's rabies shot.  The dog was impounded and later euthanized due to its inability to adapt to being confined.  If the dog had been up-to-date with its rabies vaccine, the owners would have been allowed to take the dog home with them, and it would be alive today.  This was a very upsetting event for everyone involved, and we have added the vaccination requirement so as to prevent this from happening again.

3. Your pet must be leashed at all times when out of your room. We allow pets off-leash while swimming in the lake only if it responds to your voice commands and you do not allow it to frighten or annoy anyone, especially children, or approach other dogs in a confrontational manner.

4. You must pick up your pet’s droppings immediately and dispose of them properly.

5. You may leave your pet unattended in your room. However, please be aware that you will be held responsible for any damage your pet might do while you are away.  You know your dog best, so please use your good judgment regarding leaving your dog alone.  If your dog barks excessively while you are gone, we will call you to return to the resort.

6. Your pets are not allowed on any of our furniture. If you allow your pet on your furniture, please bring coverings with you. A $50 cleaning charge will be applied for soiled or hairy blankets, spreads, sheets, or sofas. If your animal urinates or defecates on our carpeting you will be responsible for cleaning or replacing the carpet at a minimum cost of $100.

7. Pets are not allowed inside the pool fence at Delton Oaks Resort.  They are allowed to play on the beach and swim in the lake.

8.  We do not limit the number of pets per room, and all breeds are welcome.

9. Owners will be held responsible for any damage to property done by their animal and for any injury their animal might cause to another guest or an employee or owner of Delton Oaks Resort or Alpine Lodge.

10. We reserve the right to refuse to accept any or all animals, and we reserve the right to terminate your stay at any of our properties with no monetary refund if our rules are deliberately disregarded.
